Cadmium slowly builds up in the liver and kidneys. It concentrates
in the placenta. This lowers the birthweight.
Cadmium is a tenacious and insidious poison.
People who have been exposed to tobacco smoke as a child can still
have a toxic level in the blood when they are well over the age of
forty.
